AAPGThe cause of the mudflow is still disputed. John Snedden an AAPG member (American Association of Petroleum Geologists) wants to work towards answering the questions, so during the October AAPG Intl. Conference and exhibition in Cape Town, he is putting together a symposium on what caused the disaster, natural - or otherwise. At least twelve China Airlines passengers were injured Saturday when their flight encountered heavy turbulence while en route to Denpasar from Taiwan.

The Boeing 747-400 plane, carrying 339 passengers, dropped unexpectedly between while flying at 35,000 feet above the Philippines, Kompas.com reported.

To help reach the target, the government is setting aside $15 million for a domestic and international advertising blitz.

Reuters logoJAKARTA, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Indonesian coal miner PT Bayan Resources Tbk has declared force majeure after heavy rain disrupted production at its Wahana coal mine in South Kalimantan, the company said on Tuesday.

"We are still monitoring the situation. We don't know how bad it is," said Jenny Quantero, the company's corporate secretary.
